No, this item is used to create a single button termination at the end of a cable. It is furnished with a set of wedges which get inserted between the ferrule and cable. No hydraulic compression is required. This item is most commonly used as a quick fix in the field to repair a skidder mainline cable where the termination button had been ripped off or a cable broken.
